The Free State High Court has dismissed and struck off the roll, an urgent application brought by 14 employees whose contracts were not renewed in the office of Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae. The now jobless employees argued that the employer acted irrationally and unlawfully, when deciding not to extend their contracts. The contracts of more than a hundred employees were not renewed at the end of September. This is after they had been working for more that 14 years.
