2024 Elections | Polokwane residents respond to addition of third ballot for 29 May polls

For the first time South Africans will use three ballot papers during voting in the upcoming general elections. These will be the National, Regional and Provincial ballots. The regional ballot was introduced for the May elections, following the amendment of the Electoral Act, which now allows independent candidates to participate in the national and provincial elections, in line with a Constitutional Court ruling.
