Andrew Mitchell, the shadow foreign secretary, described last week's Conservative Party conference as "optimistic". He said: "The contrast between Starmer's start on 5 July and Tony Blair's start in 1997... is enormous." Trevor Phillips also asked Mr Mitchell about the conflict in the Middle East.
