Jobs Stats | Unemployment rises to 33.5% in second quarter of 2024: Matthew Parks

The number of unemployed persons increased in the second quarter. Data from Stats SA shows the official rate of unemployment went up to 33.5% in the quarter - from the 32.9% in the first quarter. The number of discouraged work seekers also went up 4.8% compared to the first quarter of the year. Matthew Parks, Cosatu's Parliamentary Co-ordinator joins me live.
