Soweto-born artist Ntokozo 'K.O' Mdluli says he was influenced by Hip-Hop greats at a young age and as a result began to pursue a career in rap music. He soon formed the group "Teargas" which left behind a huge legacy in South African music with four classic albums. Having been launched into stardom, K.O began to collaborate individually with artists such as AKA and L-Tido. In 2013 he formed the well-known entertainment and lifestyle company "Cashtime Life" through which he released his smash hit "Caracara" which is often credited with changing the sound of South African hip-hop. "Caracara" managed to top digital, radio and television charts regionally and became the first South African rap video to hit one million views on YouTube and the first rap song to be nominated as a 'Song of the Year' at the South African Music Awards. K.O also entered the fashion industry by launching his own clothing line Skhanda World. He spoke to the SABC about his musical journey.
