Live: UN Security Council holds emergency meeting on Middle East

The United Nations Security Council is holding an emergency meeting to address the spiralling conflict in the Middle East. Council members will discuss possible measure to de-escalate the conflict between Israel, Iran and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia, in a bid to prevent an all-out regional war. The meeting comes a day after Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israel, and Israel said it began limited ground incursions into Lebanon targeting Hezbollah.
