The missing Greenside High School matric pupil, Reza Saloojee, 18, was found dead in the Vaal Dam.
News24 was with the search teams on Tuesday afternoon when the discovery was made.
A team of police divers spent seven hours in the water searching for the teen.
He was found about 100 metres from the spot where he was presumed to have drowned.
Police divers from Tshwane, Johannesburg and West Rand were at the dam to help colleagues in Sedibeng, who began the search on Sunday.
More than 20 divers were deployed to the scene.
