Reserve Bank may cut interest rates

3 days ago 104

Local economists and market analysts believe the Reserve Bank is likely to cut interest rates at its next Monetary Policy Committee, which begins on Tuesday. It will announce its decision on Thursday, September 19. This will come just one day after the US Fed's call on interest rates. Global market players largely expect the central bank of the biggest economy to cut rates by a minimum of 25 basis points, with some betting it could cut by 50, which many hope will nudge South Africa's central bank in the right direction.
