'The Gates of Gaza': A story of betrayal, survival and hope • FRANCE 24 English

A survivor of Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October the 7th last year has spoken to FRANCE 24 about what happened to him and his family on that day, and his hopes for a way out of the current conflict. Amir Tibon told of how Hamas fired bullets into his home as he, his wife and two young girls sheltered in a room in the back. 15 people were killed in his Kibbutz, and 7 were kidnapped. They are still in the hands of Hamas. Tibon has now written a book called “The Gates of Gaza” to document what happened, which also looks to the future of the region. The book is also available in French “Les Portes de Gaza”. He spoke to us in Perspective.
