The Republican candidate and former President, Donald Trump made his first public appearance since his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, announced Tim Walz as her vice-presidential running mate. Speaking from his Florida resort home, Trump said he had suggested three dates in September for a debate between him and Harris. ABC has confirmed a debate on September 10. Walz served a total of 24 years in various parts of the US military before becoming a Congressman in 2007. Harris meanwhile faced down pro-Palestinian protestors at a rally in Michigan.
