The number of unemployed persons increased in the second quarter. Data from Stats SA shows the official rate of unemployment went up to 33.5% in the quarter - from the 32.9% in the first quarter. The number of discouraged work seekers also went up 4.8% compared to the first quarter of the year. Nicky Weimar, Chief Economist at Nedbank joins me now for more on this.
