As Hurricane Beryl continues to make its way closer to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean, millions of people are holding their breath and rushing to complete last-minute preparations while praying for the hurricane to wobble farther south and space the region from the brunt of the historic storm. Beryl could eventually threaten Texas and the United States gulf coast. Dr. Mike Brennan, Director of National Hurricane says Jamaica faces multiple hazards including life-threatening flooding and devastating winds. Beryl was a Category 5 hurricane Monday night into Tuesday morning and still remains a 'very dangerous, powerful Category 4 hurricane' moving quickly north westward across the north-central Caribbean sea, said Brennan.
