Citizenship Day is observed on September 17th every year. It’s a day to honor those who have made the conscious choice to become an American citizen; to assert America's values as a nation built on immigrants. Many overcome much adversity to become a U.S. citizen – all for the hope of achieving the American dream. That dream isn't necessarily always a lofty one. Many immigrants dream of simply finding a job, having a roof over their head, becoming part of a safe and secure community and enjoying the freedoms afforded to Americans by the constitution.
