CLAMPDOWN: Department of Employment and Labour claims half of restaurants visited non-compliant with labour laws

Incumbent minister of employment and labour to launch Operation Yazini as part of her first 100 days in office. The programme is said to focus on raising awareness of the department’s functions and services. It comes at a time when the department, in collaboration with other departments, is undertaking compliance raids and blitz inspections. To date, it has reported that it has enforced monetary corrections totalling more than R10-million.
