Ditsobotla Local Municipality under fire over lack of annual financial statements

The North West Provincial Legislature Standing Committee on Provincial Public Accounts (Scopa) says business can't continue as usual at the embattled Lichtenburg-based Ditsobotla Local Municipality. This comes after the Municipality failed to submit its annual financial statements for the 2022/23 audit period. Officials were summoned to account before Scopa together with the Provincial Treasury and the Department of Cooperative Governance, which have been providing administrative support to the troubled municipality.
