Some farmers in Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands have expressed concern over the recovery of the industry in the area. This follows this weekend's harsh weather and heavy snow in KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State that caused major traffic disruptions. This caused the closure of the N3 due to the formation of black ice and fog. Some farmers in the Midlands have lost most of their crops after it was buried underneath the snow for two days.
