South African Reserve Bank Governor, Lesetja Kganyago, said he was pleased that the late former minister Pravin Gordhan protected the country's financial institutions during the State Capture years. He referred to the ten years of external interference by the Gupta family, as an attempt to undermine democracy by attacking the country's institutions. Kganyago was speaking during a memorial service organised by the South African Revenue Service in honour of Gordhan, who passed away earlier this month. Gordhan was the SARS commissioner from 1999 to 2009 and also a former minister of finance, among others. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
