Stakes are high in Mozambique as the neighbouring country goes to the polls on Wednesday. Maputo will hold presidential and parliamentary elections, marking the end of President Filipe Nyusi's two term tenure. 17 million people are eligible to vote. Governing party FRELIMO has fielded a new candidate Daniel Chapo. Ossufo Momade is the presidential candidate for the opposition RENAMO and he ran in 2019 and came second.
