Mozambique gears for elections next week

It's all systems go for Mozambican general elections next week. These will be Maputo's seventh polls since the advent of multiparty democracy in 1994. The ruling FRELIMO's party's presidential candidate Daniel Chapo is expected to face a stiff challenge from Venancio Mondlane, who is running as an independent. A number of SADC countries are going to the polls such as Botswana and Namibia. Here in South Africa, the governing party, ANC lost its majority in the recent polls.
