The sister of slain businesswoman, Makoena Mabusela-Leshabane, Peggy Mafojane says families should vigorously deal with gender-based violence before it escalates into tragedy and femicide. Makoena Mabusela-Leshabane was brutally killed on the 10th of October 2020 in Polokwane, Limpopo, along with her business associate Tebogo Mphuti. Her husband, Thabo Stanley Leshabane, along with three hit men, Ndondo Buthelezi, Thembelani Dlamini and Bhekizenzo Phiyose, were found guilty of the double-murder.
