Basic Education officials embark on a listening and learning tour in Gauteng's education sector

Basic Education minister Siviwe Gwarube and her deputy Reginah Mhaule are visiting Gauteng as part of what they call a listening and learning tour. They are expected to engage education stakeholders, school leadership and the broader community on the challenges facing the province's education sector. The delegation will focus on a host of issues including the annual influx of learners into Gauteng, school safety, literacy and numeracy challenges and teacher training.
